Lino maga 1996 MONTEBUONO 1997 MONTEBUONO 2000 MONTEBUONO 2005 MONTEBUONO 2016 MONTEBUONO 2019 MONTEBUONO We are in the Oltrepò Pavese, in the municipality of Broni, where Lino Maga was the face of the Barbacarlo winery. 1896 is the year the winery was founded, when the ancestors of the Maga family named the family vineyard and an entire hillside after their uncle Carlo: Barbacarlo in the Pavese dialect. Barbacarlo and Montebuono are the protagonists of the winery, and they are wines named after the land: the first is a hillside covering 4 hectares and the second is a hillside of about 3 hectares. On this hilly terrain there is a blend of Croatina, Uva Rara and Vespolina. Specifically, Barbacarlo brings with it a history of struggles and sweat against bureaucracy, eventually gaining its own recognition as a sub-denomination, only belonging to the Maga family. Lino, now assisted by his son Giuseppe, cultivates these centuries-old vines without the use of chemical fertilisers and weed-killers, using only a little sulphur and a lot of peasant common sense.
