If an item exceeds the specified size or weight, it may be shipped in multiple packages. ----- 豊田勝秋 (1897 - 1972) TOYODA KATSUAKI 日展 NITTEN Artist He was born in September 1897 (Meiji 30) in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. In 1915 (Taisho 4), he graduated from Fukuoka Prefectural Junior High School Meizen School, where he had Harue Koga as a classmate. He entered the Casting Department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. In 1920 (Taisho 9), he graduated from the Casting Department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and advanced to the research department. In 1923 (Taisho 12), he completed his studies in the research department of the same department. He was appointed as a lecturer in the Metal Crafts Department of the Tokyo Higher School of Industrial Arts the following year. In June 1926 (Taisho 15), he participated in the establishment of the craftsman group "Mugata" and the "Japan Craft Art Association". In 1927 (Showa 2), he was selected for the Fourth Division (Crafts) of the Teiten (Imperial Exhibition). In 1935 (Showa 10), he participated in the establishment of the "Jitsuzai Craft Art Association". From 1938 (Showa 13) to 1942 (Showa 17), he was a professor at the Tokyo Higher School of Industrial Arts. In 1942 (Showa 17), he returned to Kurume. After that, he devoted himself to the promotion of craftsmanship and education in his hometown. In 1948 (Showa 23), he established the Akasaka Pottery Company in Chikugo City and produced pottery. From 1949 (Showa 24) to 1952 (Showa 27), he was the director of the Kyushu Branch of the Technical Guidance Office of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. From 1954 (Showa 29) to 1963 (Showa 38), he was a professor at Saga University Faculty of Education. In 1968 (Showa 43), he became the chairman of the Fukuoka Prefecture Craft Art Writers Association and the Kurume United Cultural Association.
