Beautiful, tall six-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) fully adorned with shiny faux-gold leaf paper showcasing a faint square pattern.
In Japan such tranquil and even screens are often used as a background for example vases with ikebana arrangements or other decorative or ceremonial objects.
Encased in a black lacquered wooden frame.
Period: Japan – Mid-/Late-Shôwa period (Mid-/Late-20th century).
