Magnificent large Giraffe figurine made by Goebel Porzellan Manufaktur in 1982, part of the “Animals of Serengeti” Collection, in pristine condition.
The Serengeti National Park situated in northern Tanzania (over 14,763 km2) is well known for the largest annual animal migration.
The name "Serengeti" is an approximation of the word “Siringet” used by the Maasai people for the area, which means "the place where the land runs on forever".
The park is listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife.
The Serengeti National Park was among the first places to be proposed as a Workd Heritage Site by UNESCO and formally established at Stockholm in 1981.
One year later, in 1982, Gobel Porzellan Manufactur honored this decision by issuing the “Animal of Serengeti” collection, with very lookalike highly detailed, glazed and hand painted porcelain of the wild animals migrating in motion through the park.
Highly collectible discontinued figurine, it is in pristine condition, Like New Never Used, Goebel maker mark and impressed numbered, clear sticker with the identification name of the animal on it, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
