1874 (Meiji 7) - 1945 (Showa 20)
Born in Gunma Prefecture. Studied under Soun Tasaki.
Founded the Japan Nanga Institute in collaboration with Tajika Chikson and Yano Kyoson. He is one of the leading figures in the Japanese Nanga world.
He is a member of the Imperial Art Academy and a member of the Imperial Household Art Agency. He died at the age of 70.
