Wonderful Set of Silver and Metal Serving Cutlery. France, 19th century
Set of cutlery for serving mignardises, appetizers-desserts-sweets, made of white metal and solid silver, with hallmarks and hallmarks of the silversmith. The set comes from France, Paris, Au Chronometre H. Jondet.
It is dated to the 19th century, they are in a very good state of conservation and show a beautiful, classically inspired, elaborate and harmonious design. The set consists of four pieces: spoon, fork, knife and spatula. Each cutlery is made up of two parts: a solid silver grip or handle and a white metal top. All the pieces have seals, minerva.
The white metal pieces are profusely decorated with engraved motifs: flowers, leaves, lines, rows of dots.
The handles are decorated with figurative elements.
The set is presented in an original case from the period, lined on the outside in gold-embossed imitation leather and covered on the inside with off-white silk and velvet.
The outer lining of the case shows some erosion, but is practically completely preserved.
