Murakami Izan (1867-1936)

Born in Kyoto in Keio 3.
His name is Yoshikazu, and nickname was Shishu.
The pseudonym is Kouro-Sanbo,Hakuhou-gabou.
First studied Hokuso painting under Abe Kanzan.
After the death of Kanzan, he studied under Taki Katei and mastered Nanga.
He was involved in the establishment of the Bunten exhibition, and in later years was active mainly in the Japan Art Association.
