望月金鳳 Mochizuki Kinpo (1846-1915) Japanese painter of the Shijo School active in the Meiji era. Born in Osaka, he was introduced to the Maruyama School by Hayashi Jinpo when he was around nine years old, and later studied with Nishiyama Hoen and Kanei of the Shijo School. From the age of 30, he lived in Hokkaido for 15 years, where he kept many animals, observed their ecology and made sketches of them.
