Various skirmishes occurred between the Normans and Hereward's band of rebels, before Morcar and many of the newly-joined rebels surrendered, leaving Hereward and a few others to flee deep into the Fens.
Original artwork for illustration on p10 Look and Learn issue no 939 (19 January 1980).
Andrew Howat painted extensively for historical and educational comics and articles for many decades and was a mainstay of the IPC Look & Learn artist stable.
