The Macallan Edition No 2 is a collaboration between the Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno and the Roca Brothers from El Celler De Can Roca, twice voted best restaurant in the world. 7 different casks were used to create this amber treasure which were origined from four different bodegas. Bob Dalgarno selected the Tevasa Casks introducing the intense dried fruit and sherry notes. The sommelier Josep Roca chose the Jose Miguel Martin casks showing the dominant ginger note through out the experience. Pastry chef Jordi Roca chose the Vasyma American oak casks creating the light vanilla and citrus notes. The head chef Joan Roca chose the Diego Martin casks showing the toffee and green woods aromas. Resulting spirit is really hard to tell on the first sniff and puff. It is bold, complex, rich, alive but dark. So many feelings, so many flavors can be felt during tasting. This one is not a regular Macallan that you love but also one that you have to think on its character.
