He began creating kokeshi dolls from the year 1949 and established the workshop "Suigetsu 翠月" in 1953. Notable Awards: Awarded the Tokyo Governor's Prize at the National Kokeshi Doll Competition in 1958. Received the Prime Minister's Award in 1966. Awarded the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize, and the Governor's Prize, among others, at the All-Gunma Modern Kokeshi Competition.
