An immaculate full set of late Napoleon 111 damask table linen in both linen and silk. This table linen has never seen the daylight and only 3 weeks ago was taken out of the armoire for the first time. It has been hidden all this time. It was still in its original folds and needed urgently washing as the folds over all those years had been impregnated with tannin from the walnut armoire. We have been able to ply it back again in the original folds after having done the styling. The bladder red battens are still as red and vibrant as to when it was woven in the early 20's. The 12 napkins measure 64cm x 77xm and are generous. The initials B.A. are open "embroidered" in single cross stitch and hand finished and by leaving spaces open in between the solid red background it creates a airy finish. The background damask on the linen has small geometrical patterns. This is a rare set of table linen.
