Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin - People In Trouble Laughing Pushed To The Ground - 2011

A fine copy of one of Bloomberg & Chagrin remarkable books. Seems like the book it's a bit bleached on side. Otherwise in perfect condition. Examining the Belfast Exposed archive, Broomberg and Chanarin worked with contact sheets documenting the Troubles in Northern Ireland. They excavated layers of interventions by photographers, community groups, researchers and archivists, revealing that we learn as much about the people charged with looking after this resource as the people portrayed in it. Adam BROOMBERG & Oliver CHANARIN are professors of photography at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (HFBK), Hamburg and teach on the MA Photography & Society programme at The Royal Academy of Art (KABK), The Hague. Together they have had numerous solo exhibitions most recently at The Centre Georges Pompidou (2018) and the Hasselblad Center (2017). Major awards include the ICP Infinity Award (2014) for 'Holy Bible', and the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize (2013) for 'War Primer 2', described as a "book that physically inhabits the pages of Bertolt Brecht's remarkable 1955 publication War Primer." They are the winners of the Arles Photo Text Award 2018 for their paper back edition of 'War Primer 2'. BROOMBERG & CHANARIN are living and working between London & Berlin.
