Max Bill - Die gute Form - 1957

MAX BILL (1908 -1994). "Die gute Form" ["The good Form" or "The good Design"]. 1st edition. Winterthur-Zentralvorstand, 1957. 14,5 x 15 cm. 42 pags. This small 1957 catalog by Max Bill (which itself exemplifies typographic minimalism) was published for the Schweizer Mustermesse in Basel (MUBA), an international watch and jewelry fair. Also for the Zentralvorstand des Schweizerischen Werkbundes (The Swiss Werkbund - SWB), a diverse creative design group from those 50's. Bill, interested in graphic, industrial and architectural design, establishes here what he considers norms about good design understood as timeless design... The design of the brochure-catalog is by Max Bill himself. A great little gem. Very good condition (between very good and fine), firm and solid despite its great fragility. With minimal handling marks. Always protected in a case in a personal library. Current lots and soon to be auctioned by Hausmann, Kokoschka, Christo, Riefenstahl, Beuys, Richter, Chillida, Nitsch, Boltanski, Duchamp, Holzer, Viola, Ernst, Picasso, Calder, Gilbert & George, Vautier, Warhol, various artist books... ___________________________________Important: we pay taxes. If you wish to send an invoice with the VAT itemized, please tell us so that we can include it in the package. Thanks. _______________________________________________ We are professionals in the sale of works of art: graphic works, paintings, sculptures, artist books, rare and antique books, manuscripts and photography.
