De Porceleyne Fles 1943, a fisherman peers over the sea. A beautiful large wall plate from 1943, made during the war years.... by De Porceleyne Fles after a work by Eichanon Verveer "De oud zeebonk" from 1898 and in the possession of a private collection. The pipe-smoking fisherman is standing on the edge of the dunes of Scheveningen. The saucer is in pristine condition, has a diameter of 41 cm and the usual age-related crackles. Two experienced painters worked on it, namely the edge by VB = Baarsel (1893-1945)  and the painting by Schilperoort C. (1894-1950). Model Razer, IX 12 year code BM= 1943, painter's signatures and factory mark. Established in 1653, De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles is the only remaining delft blue pottery factory from the 17th century. Excellent condition! Like museum storage!
