Here we have a superb large 19th Century Dutch School oil on canvas signed P Vermeulen. The artwork features a fast flowing river with boulders, surrounded by woodland with the moon shines through the cloudy sky. This has create a dappled light effect on the surface of the rocks while a pair of goats are watering. The painting is signed lower right in red and a written note verso with an inscription dedicated to someone and dated 1893. Such a delightful and very well painted colourful works that would grace any wall in your home. In fairly good condition for its age with some craquelure throughout.
