Narcissisme Kishin Shinoyama & Shimon Yotsuya bookstore Yamada/1998/Japanese/195*270*25 Narcissisme" was co-authored by Kishin Shinoyama, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers, and Simon Yotsuya, a doll maker and actor. There was a time when Nobuyoshi Araki was known for eroticism, Daido Moriyama for art, and Kishin Shinoyama for commercials, and while his nude works of actresses such as Rie Miyazawa, Kanako Higuchi, and Saki Takaoka are generally known, his artistry is also highly regarded because he mastered commercial photography. His works such as "Home" and "Sunny Day" published in the 1970s are wonderful collections. He was also a member of avant-garde theater groups and performed as an actor in the 1960s, and became a full-fledged puppeteer in the 1970s, founding the Ecole de Simon puppet school in 1978. Yotsuya Simon (incidentally, his younger brother is Watanabe Kaneto, one of Japan's leading photographers and Ihei Kimura Award-winning artists) has also devoted himself to teaching younger generations. This book is not so much about Yotsuya's doll works as it is a series of photographs taken by Kishin Shinoyama of his studio and doll production. It consists of two parts: illustrations and text.
