A Macallan Rare Cask 2022 Release is a prime example of the art of cask selection.
Each cask has been hand-selected from Macallan's finest Oloroso reserves.
A whisky that embodies the essence of elegance and time—powerful, yet serene.
Rare in name, exceptional in character.
Crafted from a selection of exceptional Oloroso sherry casks, hand-selected by Macallan's Master Whisky Maker.
Made in European and American oak casks for maximum complexity.
Natural color, non-chill filtered, limited annual release.
Nose: The alcohol is medium, with hints of cinnamon and pepper. The main body is dried cranberries, raisins, dried cranberries, candied plums and dried plums, with a little cold-pressed orange juice squeezed from the skin sprinkled on top, as well as some micro-nuts and chocolate milk.
Palate: There is some pungency that is not painful. Honey, orange syrup, sweet and sour dried fruits, orange peel oil, pepper and cloves brought by oak. It's not very sweet, it has a certain complexity, but its intensity is a bit weak.
Finish: At the beginning, a group of sugar-free nuts and woody aromas hit the nose, followed by tannins and dark chocolate, and the spices brought by oak gradually strengthened from weak to strong. The final rhyme is longer.
