Matt Hranek travelled internationally to meet collectors and explore important private collections, bringing together the previously unpublished stories of 76 watches. Each timepiece is presented through specially produced photography, archival material and the testimony of the person connected to it. In the author’s words, these watches carry their own “emotional DNA”.

Paul Newman’s celebrated Rolex Daytona, a gift from Joanne Woodward;
Wally Schirra’s Omega Speedmaster;
Sylvester Stallone’s gold Rolex Submariner;
Franklin D. Roosevelt’s watch;
Nas’s Patek Philippe;
historic Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Submariner, Explorer and Air-King models;
watches by Cartier, Omega, Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tudor, Breitling, Casio and Timex.
The collection ranges from exceptional examples of haute horlogerie to modest watches whose importance lies primarily in their personal and emotional histories.
