Japan" is a collection of photographs by Seiji Kurata, one of Japan's leading photographers. Seiji Kurata majored in oil painting at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and after working as an art teacher and at a local factory, he began to aspire to become a photographer. He studied at the Workshop School of Photography, which was led by Shomei Tomatsu, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Daido Moriyama. After graduation, Kurata made a name for himself with his solo exhibition “Street Photorandom” in 1979 and his first photo book “Flash Up” in 1980.
