Garrard in a very beautiful condition. Particularly nice drive by means of an adapter wheel. The frame and turntable are in truly beautiful condition and you will not quickly find it in this condition again. The cover is really neat with very light signs of wear, so no cracks or deep scratches. Also no cracks near the hinges. The mechanism of this special turntable works well and is fully lubricated. Comes with good cartridge and needle and sounds very good! This Garrard is rare to find and almost never in this condition! The opportunity to obtain this great-looking item! Specifications and description: This Garrard SL72B Synchro-Lab record changer is from 1969. The device is on a wooden console. This Synchro-Lab is derived from the Garrard model SL95B. The differences are the somewhat simpler tonearm and the smaller turntable. A 45 rpm puck is included. The mechanism can play records manually, automatically or via a changing mechanism. The thin exchange spindle only accepts 30 cm records, singles can only be changed by means of the (optional) wide Garrard LRS25 spindle. The speed and record diameter can be set by means of a dial on the front left, there are flip switches under the arm for Start-Stop, Manual and Armlift. The silversmith George Wickes started the company in 1722 in London which was later renamed to Garrard in 1735. In 1915, ‘Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company’ in Willesden, North West London was founded. This company was a part of the ‘Garrard the Crown Jewellers’, and made precision parts for the Ministry of Defence. After the First World War, the production of spring motors was picked up. The first model was called Number 1. The factory soon moved to Swindon, Wiltshire. Garrard comes with a complete gramophone in 1930, the first record changer was manufactured in 1932, the RC 1. In 1945, ‘The Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company Ltd' arises. In 1954, the first Hi-Fi turntable is presented, the 301. In 1958, the factory burns down, but with the help of the Plessey Company Ltd, the production quickly resumed.
