A beautiful old telephone made of copper and Bakelite from 1956, this is a real eye-catcher!
In 1956, RTT - the Belgian telephone company - introduced a new type of telephone that would become the standard for the following decades.
This style of telephone was designed in the 1930s by BTMC.
It was a very modern design for that era, and is one that still looks good today.
This telephone has what one would call character.
In very good condition. A very beautiful design.
What is fun is the handle attached to the phone to carry the handset during the call, one could say here is where the ‘’mobile phone actually started".
Nice dial and Bakelite Handset and "earth" button just above the RTT logo.
Great item with a beautiful appearance, in a wonderful original condition with a particularly beautiful patina!
