African wooden Oware game of wood and bonduc seeds
Foldable wooden game board, mounted with iron hinges and old tacks. Each half has 6 round recesses (12 in total) and the game is played with 2 x 24 seeds (berries, pebbles, shells, etc.). This centuries-old sowing and harvest game for 2 people was already played in ancient Egypt. It is known throughout West-Africa under dozens of different names, such as oware, wari, abape, awale and mancala. The rules of the game can be found on www.oware.org. This copy is from Ghana, manufactured entirely by hand and is equipped on the front with a stylized female figure.

Condition: is in a very good condition and is complete with all the seeds.
Carved from two pieces of tropical ebony, secured with simple hinges. The photos are an addition to the description of the condition.
