Engine: a small history
The HP1 engine, produced by Fantic, comes from the latest evolution of the Strada 125 Sport liquid-cooled engine.
Without exhaust valve, reed valve, balance shaft and electric starting, the HP1 engine gives nothing to the latest technologies and trends. It has, however, the automatic mixer and the sixth gear.
The thermal unit is not the same mounted on the Sport model, but it keeps an extensive cooling fins. The HP1 engine is liquid-cooled and the cooling is by forced circulation with a centrifugal pump, while in the Sport model it was by radiator.
Provided with a Dell'Orto PHBH 26 carburettor; the tempered steel exhaust has been specially designed for HP1.
The power output is good and being devoid of lamellar intake, the Fantic engine is also very prone to overspeed.
Power output measured at the wheels: 18,24 hp @ 8250 rpm; max. speed: 132,95 km/h.
Max speed approx. 140 km/h
