Large and very expensive, high quality medieval Gobelin "Chasse au cerf Médiévale"-cotton. This tapestry is from the masters in this field: JP Paris, panneau de la Reigny. It is made in the anniversary year (100 years) of JP Paris in 1978. The tapestry is numbered. The tapestry 40 years ago cost 4,395 guilders (in excess of 2000 euro). The term Gobelin is known in Dutch as a tapestry in general, but relates specifically to a tapestry from the “Manufacture des Gobelins” in Paris. The factory was established in the unoccupied building of Hôtel Gobelin, which at one point was used by the Gobelin painters lineage. The back of the gobelin reflects the label of JP Paris and the purchase amount. Depiction of two deer hunters, one hunter on horseback and the other on foot with three hunting dogs. The fine embroidery has beautiful relief in the figures and in the flora and fauna. The tapestry has the following size: 130 x 117 cm and weighs more than 2 kg. Has always hung in non-smoking area.
