This nice piece of history was fully restored in 2018 down to the very last bolt. Performed by a specialist in Russian motorcycles. During the Second World War, this M72 service was a means of transport for a radio-connecter on the border between Moldova and Ukraine. The bike has remained in his possession and in 1972 was bought by the son of the radioman. The motorcycle was registered in original condition in the Netherlands via the Dutch vehicle authority (the RDW). After which no expense or effort was spared concerning its restoration with use of solely original parts, it’s now better than new. This is a very rare and reliable motorcycle. An identical bike has been recently valued for 15,000 euros. The reserve price of this in our opinion even nicer copy is far below. The parts that commonly wear out were replaced by parts that do not. - Bearings by Timken - Seals by SKF - New gaskets - New European wiring and electrical components - New pistons - Piston rings with chrome coating - Frame blasted and powder-coated - All rotating parts sandblasted and galvanized - New brake linings - Of course the block and gearbox were overhauled See pictures for an impression of the restoration’s quality.
