Sukhotai figurine in ceramic with celadon glaze.
The figuring depicts a woman crouching down, holding her baby in her arms.
Ceramic with a pretty celadon glaze, very well preserved. The glaze is partly covered with a layer of oxide (it can be removed but it is testament to its antiquity).
Thailand, Khmer art, Lanna Kingdom, circa 14th/15th century.
Height 96 mm x width 57 mm.
In excellent condition - one arm has been restored.
An extremely charming figurine.
Origin information:
Purchased by the current owner in April 2019 in Germany: E Z Auktionhaus, lot N° 3264. Previously from an old private German collection.
