In 1981, they mounted the new 2492cc V6 from the Alfa 6 in the GTV, it was renamed Alfetta GTV6. The engine produced a maximum power of 160 HP and a maximum torque of 220 Nm. According to 'The British Classic and Sportscar magazine', this is one of the best sounding engines ever produced. Characteristic of the GTV6 is the bonnet air intake scoop. The Alfetta GT and GTV were successful in the DTM, WTCC, ETCC and Group A. Several GTVs were modified for the track and for rallies by Alfa’s racing team Autodelta.
