Every so often a cask reveals such intriguing complexity or distinctive character that our Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, sets it to one side. Sharing these extraordinary casks, which bear all the hallmarks of Highland Park yet reveal their own unique personality, is the inspiration behind our new Discovery Selection – and we’re offering it first to our Inner Circle members. Discovery Selection Release No. 1 Release No. 1 comes from Cask 2863, a first-fill, sherry seasoned, American oak butt laid down in 1998 and left to mature for 20 years in Warehouse 12 at our Kirkwall distillery. Bottled in 2019 at 57.9% ABV, it’s a warm and spicy single malt revealing notes of sweet pastry, a dusting of aromatic spices and tangy lemon zest, wrapped in a cloud of gentle peat smoke. We’d love as many Highland Park fans as possible to experience the unique magic that happens in our Orkney warehouses, so we’ve packed Release No. 1 in small 5cl bottles - 3,400 of them - rather than standard 70cl bottles. - Shipping costs include packaging materials to ensure optimal delivery-
