A reproduction after the famous lamps of Émile Gallé.
Émile Gallé (Nancy, May 4, 1846 - there, September 23, 1904) was a French glass maker and furniture designer who had his working basis in his hometown. His favorite topic, which he also frequently used in his work, was the plant. There were also many insects motives. The glass is single or multicolored, decorated with ornate nature motifs. Gallé has invented many new techniques for processing glass.
In his lamps too, Gallé used different techniques, this lamp shows an example of applied glass, made with stencils. A unique way of working for that time which for a long time was used exclusively by Gallé. Gallé often applied the imposed-glass method in lamps. Gallé died in 1904 from leukemia.
The lamp is fully intact, has a copper mount, matching the rich vineyards. The sizes are: approximately 39 cm high, the shade has a diameter of approximately 17 cm, the base of approximately 12.5 cm.
