Tortoise shell coin purse with engraved silver inlay - France - approx. 1880
Small turtle coin purse or wallet -
Dimensions: 7 x 5 x 2.2 cm.
Has an engraved, cartouche-shaped silver decoration. Rectangular model with rounded corners and 4 compartments. The horizontal clasp, the hinge and the interior clasp are made from silver plated brass. It has a concertina-fold interior and is lined with blue silk satin. One of the interior clasps is marked "BREVETE SGDG" which was used in France between 1850 and 1900. The exterior has a beautiful turtle pattern. A minuscule piece of turtle shell is missing next to the clasp, yet is not visible as such and is not a problem.
The lot will be sent as a parcel by registered mail.
