In 2019 Alfa Romeo decided to partner with the Sauber team to return to compete in Formula 1 after almost 30 years of absence in the premier class. To celebrate this, they created a limited edition of 15 units of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which is much more than just a flashy exterior design. Of the 15 units manufactured, one was made for the then Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, the last Formula 1 champion of the Ferrari team. The 'Racing Edition' has many improvements compared to the 'normal' Quadrifoglio. On the one hand, Sauber team's engineers redesigned the aerodynamic package with a new front splitter, new side wings, wider side skirts and a larger spoiler. On the other hand, Akrapovic collaborated by designing a special exhaust system for this model that managed to generate 10 more hp compared to the Quadrifoglio. In addition, this edition brought ceramic brakes and sports seats designed by Sparco, among other things. Thanks to these modifications, this Alfa Romeo SUV generated 520 hp that was sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The gearbox powered this beast from 0 to 100 in just 3.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 286 km/h. The exterior of this example is in excellent condition and completely original. The special paintwork inspired by the Formula 1 Alfa Romeos is in excellent condition and has not been repainted. This special edition has an aerodynamic package designed by Sauber, which has many carbon fibre finishes. One of the main features of this finish are seats designed by Sparco with back made of carbon fibre. It has an excellent quality Harman Kardon sound system, rear camera, parking sensor and much more. Mechanically, the Ferrari-designed 2.9 bi-turbo V6 engine runs perfectly as you would expect in a car with only 11,500 km. It delivers 520 hp to all four wheels, converting this SUV into one of the fastest ones on the market. It has a special exhaust, original to the edition that was designed by Akrapovic that gives it 10 more hp and a very special sound.
