In auction a set of "Puja" lights from Nepal, with a beautifull dark and greenish sometimes yellow patina.
The Lotus flowers can be opened and closed or just see the lotus leafes in full bloom
Used as an schrine offering or puja light and even used to burn insence!
On its pettals is a small depiction of Lord Ganesha or Ganapati, god of beginnings, prosperity and wealth. Remover of al obstacles
Lord Ganesha is believed to bring good furtune and thus he is worshipped before anything new is started.
The base of the lotus light is a small tortoise. This is sacred symbol for longevity, power, and tenacity. ... For the Nepalese, Chinese as well as the Indians, the tortoise symbolizes the universe.
This beautifull lotus light is made of copper finished with a green patina.
It's about 11cm high and 7.5 wide at it's base. The weight is aprox 300 grms per pcs
