Christofle is a French silversmith and tableware company founded by Charles Christofle in Paris, in 1830.
The company is known for having introduced in France electrolytic gilding and silver plating in 1842. The company was repurchased in 2012 by one of its shareholders: the luxury goods retailer and distributor Chalhoub Group.
The Christofle company makes its products entirely by hand, using the traditional techniques.
