You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique 4/4 violin, labeled Francesco Ruggieri detto il Per Cremona 1695.
The instrument is in ready to play condition with some tears and wears but no cracks. The violin has an excellent straight medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple. The whole length of the violin is 583 mm and the back 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 159 mm; middle bouts: 109 mm; lower bouts: 200 mm. Full size. The violin has new rosewood and ebony set up, new master made bridge and new strings. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. I hope the violin will find good hands. Wish you a successful bidding.
