Mauro Veglio, Docg Barolo 2019 Gattera = Dominato dal famoso cedro del Libano, il Gattera è una Menzione Geografica del Barolo che prende il nome dall’omonima cascina che domina l’area. Ubicato al confine tra i comuni di La Morra e Castiglione Falletto, ha un andamento piuttosto articolato con versanti che salgono dalla provinciale per Barolo verso la frazione Annunziata, in un arco collinare che va da sud-ovest e sud-est verso nord-est. I suoli tortoniani di La Morra (argille, sabbia e calcare) incontrano gli elveziani di Castiglione (marne brune molto compatte). Qui coltiviamo circa due ettari e mezzo con esposizione che va da sud-est a sud-ovest: una vigna ben esposta che regala un Barolo maturo, speziato, caldo e intenso Gattera = Dominated by the famous cedar of Lebanon, Gattera is a Geographic Mention of Barolo which takes its name from the homonymous farmhouse which dominates the area. Located on the border between the municipalities of La Morra and Castiglione Falletto, it has a rather articulated trend with slopes that rise from the provincial road for Barolo towards the Annunziata hamlet, in a hilly arc that goes from the south-west and south-east to the north-east. The Tortonian soils of La Morra (clay, sand and limestone) meet the Helvetian soils of Castiglione (very compact brown marls). Here we cultivate about two and a half hectares with an exposure that goes from south-east to south-west: a well-exposed vineyard that gives a mature, spicy, warm and intense Barolo
