Original oil painting by Spanish postwar painter Ira Monte (1918-) depicts a somberly painted floral still life arrangement in muted tones. Still actively working at 104 years old, Monte imbues an antiqued feel onto contemporary work, and is well known for their paintings of tropical birds, flower winaries and landscapes rendered in earthy hues. Housed in an ornate gold frame that includes a museum light, this original still life is signed by Monte in the lower right hand corner of the canvas.

Biography
Ira Monte worked as a restorer at the Sevilla Museum between 1960 and 1965. She was selected by the Spanish Government to be in a group show to travel the major countries of the World during 1958 and 1959. Maintained a studio in Barcelona and Rome. Studied in Fine Arts Academy, Barcelona 1937-1941, Academia de Belles Artes, Madrid 1954.

Her paintings are currently highly sought after on the international market, with some of them being sold at a smaller size than the one we present for 12,000€.
