Despite being ever humble about his work, Hilscher was a highly influential and internationally acclaimed poster artist and one of the key founders of the Poster Biennale. He was also the creative driving force behind Projekt magazine, where he was art director for 22 years, and an award winning book designer. We adore his thoughtfulness and the balance and structure he brought to his work. Hilscher’s posters were shown in Vienna (1964), Düsseldorf (1968), Berlin, Bratislava, Prague, Budapest, Sofia (1969), and Royan (1972), among others.
