Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste/Nicoya Region, ca. 300 to 500 A.D. A beautiful bird celt, skillfully carved and string cut from a beautiful piece of green jadeite. The form depicts a perched bird with wonderful details: a long, pointed beak, feathers atop its head, and schematic wings at the sides, above the celt-shaped blade below. Centrally drilled on the uppert area for attachment or suspension.

Dimensions: 9,30 cm.

Condition: Small surface wear at the right upper edge. Excellent condition.
