Kazuo Nakata, a student of the third Tokuda Yasokichi, is a Kutani ware ceramicist noted for his expertise in the Yuri Ginsai technique. His works are known for allowing the silver foil underneath the glaze to subtly show through, creating a distinctively elegant and refined style. As a director of the Japan Kogei Association and a holder of Ishikawa Prefecture's Intangible Cultural Property, Nakata's works have gained significant recognition, including having his "Yuri Ginsai Vase" permanently preserved by the Smithsonian Institution's Sackler Gallery in 1993, and he was awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal in 2011.
