The Old Pulteney Distillery was established in 1826 and takes its name from Sir William Pulteney who gave his name to the local town. At the time of the Distillery’s construction there were no roads and the Distillery was only accessible by sea, in came the barley out went the Whisky. Many of the Distillery workers were also employed in the fishing industry for Herring and the local harbour became renowned for its barrels of Silver and Gold “Silvery Herring and Golden Whisky” that left the local harbour in vast numbers.

Matured in hand-selected American ex-bourbon and ex-fino sherry casks. This non chill-filtered 21 Years old has been awarded “world whisky of the year” by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible 2012.
