Step into the traditional world of Noh theatre with this hand-carved wooden Ko-Omote mask, a representation of a young maiden aged between 16 and 17 years. This mask captures the essence of the Ko-Omote role in Noh plays, symbolizing an unmarried young woman, often depicted with high-drawn eyebrows and blackened teeth, a cultural representation of youth and purity.

The Ko-Omote mask embodies innocence and charm, with a hint of naïveté. This expression is carefully crafted through the combination of high eyebrows and blackened teeth, portraying the untouched purity of a young woman. The mask is also adorned with traditional makeup, featuring white gofun (crushed shell white) for a luminous, beautiful face and a touch of red for a healthy, vibrant look. This mask, featuring an inscription on the interior, comes with a plain fabric mask bag and original wooden box, adding unique value to any collection of Japanese art and theatre.
