Ancient Mesopotamian clay cuneiform tablet dating to The Old Babylonian Period (between 1894 BC - 1595 BC). The artifact is cone-shaped with engraved cuneiform text running horizontally from the front left to right front side. Used characteristic notation consisting of wedge-shaped impressions formed into the signs is considered as the earliest form of writing. The back of the tablet is a sharply sloping, irregular surface with perfectly preserved earth deposits. The lower part constituting the base is flat with a few shallow recesses that do not have any effect on the excellent stabilization of the tablet.

Cuneiform tablets are important pieces of history being a testimony to the next step in the development of human civilization. In the past they were used to record administrative documents, personal correspondence, and also to preserve stories and myths.
