This carpet belongs to village and nomadic carpets from Iran, formerly Persia. This type of carpet is knotted by hand in an old tradition in smaller towns and villages. Nomads also still weave Persian carpets in the open air. The carpets are knotted without a template and completely from scratch. They are characterized by classic ornaments that are laid out in linear and geometric patterns. Thanks to their cultural and traditional origins, these carpets have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia.
