SHOGUN FLOOR LAMP, made by Mario Botta for Artemide, from a 1986 design. Very rare model as it is no longer made. The Shogun metal lamp was conceived by the Swiss architect Mario Botta. Today it is on display at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The lamp is composed of two adjustable screens in steel sheet, perforated and lacquered white, and a black and white lacquered metal stem. Steel and granite base, under which there are felt feet to protect the floor on which the lamp stands. Plastic switch and European plug (up to 250 V). A light bulb with maximum power of 250 W can be used. Light bulb not included. When the lamp is placed in the room, it creates a very special atmosphere due to the shadows generated by the perforated screens. Original Artemide model (produced from 1986), see the hallmarks shown in the photos. The lamp comes from a private collection, it was purchased from the Artemide Store in Milan in the late 1980s, and is in very good condition, as seen in the photos, with just small signs of age-related wear (flaking paint at the bottom of the stem, where the lamp is attached to the granite base), and two scratches on the stem, highlighted in the last photos.
