A marble king's falcon hunting scene seal bead from the ancient Mesopotamian culture, first millennium AD or older.
In good condition. It has been cleaned but the nice antique patina is preserved. They are sandy deposits in the deeper lying parts of its surface. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular. Traces of use and age. There is a small chip on the rim.
Purchased in 1976/Tehran on the local art market by Dr. Zelnik.
