An exquisite silk Persian handmade Kashan rug, measuring 200 x 120cm (6.5 x 4 ft). An eye catching all over tree of life design having detailed motifs in white and sky abrash blue field with a geometric borders in various silk colours. This late 19th century silk rug is a prime example of fine pieces belonging to the period where rug making in I'ran was at its best. Almost 99% of these rugs were exported to the Western world and as time went by has made it harder and harder to source them. Good condition ones go for thousands of pounds and the ones with the fair conditions remain popular for those who like to own such beautiful rugs but could not afford to pay huge price for them. This rug although has some defects like few tears and holes and some fraying but its beauty and stunning weave and colours has remained undiminished.
