Ancient Roman Silver Classical Ring with a beautifully 'bloody' red coloured Carnelian intaglio with an image of Goddess Ceres, standing, toga holding long sceptre and two corn grains. Ceres was one of the most important as goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility and motherly relationships. Ceres is the only one of Rome's many agricultural deities to be listed among the Dii Consentes, Rome's equivalent to the Twelve Olympians of Greek mythology. Small and insignificant damage on part of the intaglio, near to the edge, otherwise very good condition with excellent grade of the silver- Wearable. Rare.
