This painting, titled Defeated, is part of my series Tribute to Loved Ones and features my son, portraying his personal battles with adolescence. The image shows him knocked down, his body resting on the ground with his boxing gloves still on. The gloves, symbols of the fight, reflect the struggle and exhaustion that come with life's challenges. In this moment, he is truly defeated, capturing the rawness of confronting obstacles that feel too overwhelming to overcome. Defeated is a stark, honest portrayal of the vulnerability of youth, reminding us that even in defeat, there is a profound strength in facing those moments head-on.
