In April 1851 the owners of the Belgian manufactory in Nimy created the "Mouzin-Lecat and co." association; Jean-Pierre Mouzin his and son were responsible for the management of the facility. In just a few years the company reached great artistic success and expanded with new buildings equipped with new and efficient machinery. The factory produced luxury ceramic vases, allowing the entire world to appreciate the skill of its craftsmen. This vase can be dated back to the late 1800s (as per the stamp in photo 12, 13 and 14), features floral motifs and a serene rural scene, and has been painted using soft blue colours. The artwork is completed by the two decorated handles in the shape of acanthus leaves and the tripod base, which give the item a wonderful harmony.
